Collage

I am almost done with my project and I have determined that sometimes, you have to sacrifice and get the quality stuff... I am thinking that some places are not the best to shop for some things art wise. I will save up nest time and spend the little bit of extra money on canvases from a real craft store... Not Walmart.... Although Wally world is great for many things, streached canvas is not one of them.

Still Creating....

Wow, it has sure been a busy week! i can't believe it is Sunday already. At least I only have a three day week this week. Woohoo for Veteran's Day! I am still working little bits at a time to finish my collage project. i ahve a feeling it will not be posted until this coming weekend. I get to go to the firing range this week and set up tents for inventory so I am not sure how much art my schedule will allow for. But this coming 4 day weekend will be plenty of time for ALOT of creativity! I am really looking forward to it!

Collages

Today i am going to start a project that is going to take me a few days. Well, I am going to try to start it. One of our sister units flew in from Afganistan last night around 0230 and we had to go and bring them back from the airport. So I am pretty tired today and I have chirch tonight so we shall see how today pans out.
I will post pictures as I go but I will be using a canvas... or two, torn paper, doodads, paint, gel meduim and whatever else strikes my fancy at the time of creation. I have already made two of these collages under the guidance of my mother and now I am going to try them on my own.

Art Excitement

I am so very excited about all of the ideas I have of things I can make and design. I am trying very hard to go sloly so I dont use up all of my good ideas all at once. It is so hard. I think I may have to start writing things down. I have so many great project ideas going through my head. I am going to be busy fo a long time. Which is good. I am so blessed to have a mother who was willing to let me in on her art secrets and show me my beginning ropes to all of what I have learned.

Create Every Day

Ok, so today I have started a month long challenge to create something new every day. I decided to start off a little easy and do a wooden plaque. I bought some letters and a blank plaque and when I got home realized that my last name, Montgomery, is quite long and thus does not fit on the plaque. So I improvized and put my husband and my name on it instead. I have chosen to use pinks and silver for the color palate. I am hoping to find some complementary colors to use in the future. Pink is my favorite but I am understanding that Jeff does not want to live in a pink cloud of cotton candy. I am open to trying any colors in my color wheel that will compliment my favorites and am looking forward to seeing what my mind and fingers come up with.
